The verdict

Effective grease-cutter but a skin-absorbed irritant — ventilate, wear gloves.

What it is

The grease-cutting solvent (butyl cellosolve) in many glass and all-purpose cleaners.

WTF fact

The powerful grease-cutter behind streak-free glass and 'purple' all-purpose cleaners. It works well, but it's an irritant that absorbs through the skin and can affect blood cells at high exposure — so ventilate and wear gloves with concentrates, and don't huff the spray.
